@audreyl Canadians have 100% grown poorer in the last year. Unfortunately, inflation can make it look like fewer people are living in poverty. In reality our ability to afford food and housing has declined significantly.
@pete_martinez The income threshold of the poverty line is also increasing. Officially it is defined as half the median househ income. In the 2016 census that was 35k based on the 70k median household income. In the 2021 census that is 42k based on the 84k median household income.
@rockwall2011 Strange, I know big chains usually don't hire anyone under 15/16. There's no minimum age requirement but 14y/o is the lowest I've ever heard of.
