Hey,

I have a 5% matched GMPP through Canada Life with my work.

They put me in a balanced portfolio as the default & I want to make it more aggressive. I'm 25 and looking to retire by 55-58.

In currently in:
  • 54.42% in Balanced Pension Trust (PH&N) - 0.723% MER, 7.48% 10-year rate of return, 5.7% since inception
  • 48.57% in 1 Yr Compound Interest ACCT (GIA)
  • My rate of return so far is 7.8% for this portion.
The only other decent options are:
  • Global Equity (PH&N) - 0.703% MER, 12.52% 10-year return, 8.7% since inception
  • Canadian Equity (PH&N) - 0.703% MER, 8.3% 10-year return, 5.1% since inception
  • Continuum 2055 (PSG) - An asset allocation that gets more conservative with time - 0.680% MER, 8.50% 10-year return (can't find much info)
They also have a bond ETF - Bond (PH&N) - 0.703% MER, 2.44% 10-year rate of return.

Any suggestions for how to build my work portfolio?
