I want to be a Financial Planner, will be graduating at the end of this year with an accredited degree.
I have 2 job offers but am unable to pick which would be better for my career progression.
Company A - Job Role: Financial Planning Graduate
Small firm - 1 x Managing Director (CFP), 1 x Financial Adviser, (No para planners), 1 x Client Services Officer and 6 x Accountants.
Responsibilities:
Document preparation and management along with general daily administration
Assisting with the Implementation of SOA's
Preparation of Records of Advice and Client Reviews
Working closely with financial advisers to prepare Statements of Advice (SOAs)
Company B - Job Role: Client Services Officer - They did say depending on how I go, career progression available to para planner and so on.
Small-Mid Sized Firm - 2 x Financial Advisers, 1 x Practice Manager (CFP), 1 x Operations Manager, 2 x Paraplanners, 2 x Client Services Officer.
Responsibilities:
Meet and Greet
Correspondence in and out
Phone Calls
Sort and scan existing files
Keep company database up to date
Researching Insurance products
Preparing Comparison of Financial/Insurance products for paraplanning team
Producing reports of findings & results of analysis
I’m just a bit unsure as to which one would be the best one to start my career off with. Would really appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
Edit: Accepted job at Company A. Thank you very much!
