Hello,

I am having trouble figuring out which funds to invest in. I currently have 100% in CG 2060 TD U3. I have read through the 401k selection sections, although I am still unsure on which to choose. Any insight would be appreciated! Below are my options.

@teejay79 that presupposes someone wants to approximate the total market.

here's one thing I don't understand about the Bogleheads: they insist on replicating the total market as closely as possible in market cap weighting. yet they typically ignore bonds.

foreign bonds are the largest asset class, globally. so to mirror the global investible market, it would be about 40% foreign bonds, 30% US bonds, 20% US stocks and 10% international stocks.

there are periods of time, some of them very long many year stretches, where bonds outperform stocks ... why are the Bogleheads so strident on the stocks but ignoring the bonds?

@moonphantom You are free to go 30/70 or whatever asset allocation you want. My take is I think those companies would know better than me on picking the right asset allocation. If the TDF are using market cap weights for their allocation I am fine by replicating it with individual funds.
