@uberweston You file the w8-ben automatically when setting up account with ibkr. It‘s directly stated when you set it up.

Sometimes it gets lost and in the past you needed to do it separately.

The 15% that is still deducted is to be expected. You claim those with filing taxes.

With Ireland funds like VUSA, you have nothing that‘s being deducted at your broker. But it is lost at the fund level in Ireland, but you dont see that.

@uberweston it is indeed easier, but those accumulated dividends are also taxed so the same applies. you can also set your dividends to automatically reinvest in ibkr
