State: New Mexico.
Situation: My wife's father died 12/23/23 and a death certificate was not issued for roughly 1.5 months. Auto policy was active through 03/04/24. Insured auto was stolen from home on 03/30/24.
Question: Is there a provision in the insuring agreement or conditions of Progressive's auto policy about policy coverage in the event of the death of all named insureds? When I was with my prior employer (another carrier) I know policy coverage was extended for X amount of days after the policy lapsed in this instance.
Clarification: We live in TN and, due to distance + delay in getting the death certificate, my wife has been unable to get to NM to start the probate process.
