Moving back to US, dependent tax question (W-4)

I'm moving back to the US and filling out my W-4 for my new job there. My son will remain here in Japan with my wife, who will both move to the US later this year. Can I claim him as a dependent on my W-4?

@heleadethme Yes, you can claim them as dependents. BTW, W4 is just to notify your employer to calculate how much tax to withhold. You can raise or lower the number of withholding depending on whether you want to pay to IRS at tax return filing or receive refund at tax return filing. Just don’t owe too much to IRS come tax time and you will be fine.
