"Outside of the Magnificent 7, the rest of the S&P 500 did nothing."

@abesabre S&P's perceived success in the market is largely inflated by unsustainable, wildly outlier stocks in 7 companies as perceived elite returns. When you adjust for the future by bringing down the outlier stocks, it regresses heavily to a slightly above average return.

For those out of the loop

@abesabre Breadth and price data all you need. Had thrusts in Oct low and Jan 2023 been all in since. Don’t listen to media they are not trying to help you

@abesabre The M7: boomers need a stock pick that’s not an etf or index. They’re not doing crypto because it’s a “fad.” So they get one pick that they can rave about on the country club links, how they staked 5% of their savings on it and it mooned 40%. They still got bonds too. It is winning though because they make a lot so they got the capital.

@abesabre I only own 20 individual stocks, and 2 of them are Uber and pulte, and the third is STRL (small cap up 166%). And I bought 3x levered small cap etfs at market bottom a few months ago. It’s been a good year lol. Own blackstone too which is too 20.
