I got a slip from Revenue Québec that says I owe $6000

I just got a letter and I’m it a slip saying I owe $5912,46. I don’t understand how, or where it comes from that I owe that much money or any money at all.

Last year I was on sick leave for 8 months while on my private insurance covered everything. And only worked for less than a month because I gradually came back to work from three days to five at the end over the period of 2 months.

I don’t know if that’s relevant but it baffles me that on the letter it doesn’t specify where and how I owe that money.

@mdbeliever I get called by 'Revenue Canada' every other day. They get to hear the choicest expletives before disconnecting.

@mdbeliever Were your sick leave earnings taxed? Were you getting paid by your employer's insurance when you were on sick leave? If so were you paying tax on it

@atiredwife I definitely was being taxed. I got all the slips at the end of each month and I went through them so I’m just wondering if maybe is not a mistake on their thinking I didn’t pay taxes on it when I in fact did.

I will look into now, I appreciate the insight, this might be it.
