    Help on Liability Insurance, damages exceed the policy

    @seekingpurity They might. If the other party sees you as judgement proof, they might take what they can get.

    18y/o on our car insurance - lawsuit risk?

    @innerhouse I suppose different companies do it differently but I've never seen a deductible on liability of a personal policy, even on umbrella.

    Trying to reverse car total decision

    @sodomyslayer69 If damages exceed the value, it's required by law in every state to be totaled your insurance has no choice. In some states, it takes much less than that.

    New to insurance- question

    @greenesayle While it's best to have thr VIN of the exact car you want, if it's the same yr, make, model, trim with same options your quote should be very close, so yes you can do that. But under no circumstances be driving until your insurance is active.

    Help on Liability Insurance, damages exceed the policy

    @seekingpurity Your insurance isn't going to lie to you telling you that damages have exceeded your policy limits of they haven't. The 100/300 means your policy pays for injuries up to 100k PER PERSON and up to 300k per accident. So if only one person was injured and had 350k in medical...

    Mercury doesn’t renew car insurance!! In CA

    @rickel Keep calling around as well as calling an independent broker, or 2, or even 3 if you need to until you can find coverage.

    18y/o on our car insurance - lawsuit risk?

    @stevethewaldner If he's living with you he needs to be listed or excluded on your policy if your state allows. Buy an umbrella.

    not at-fault in an accident - what options do i have?

    @mmx "Yikes. They offered a 25k settlement, however I am not sure if it's enough given that the loss is going to be so much more (plus I got a dislocated thumb from the accident). Would I be able to maximize my compensation if I was injured?" 11 hours ago.

    Adjuster is saying I’m 20 percent liable

    @jorica Nothing you can do to make them "fix" this. As Key did, with no proof otherwise, they are going to believe their client over you.

    not at-fault in an accident - what options do i have?

    @mmx They already offered the 25k. 🤦🏾‍♂️

    Should i wait get an estimate from mechanic before reports to the insurance?

    @zylogz80 Yes, if you can fix it to your satisfaction for $600, then pay the entire amount out of pocket. Save insurance for large losses.

    not at-fault in an accident - what options do i have?

    @mmx They're still only gonna pay 25k because that's all the policy has available for property damage.

    Should i wait get an estimate from mechanic before reports to the insurance?

    @zylogz80 I would never suggest filing a claim for a $100 payout.

    Should I go through my insurance?

    @sunnydaize Your deductible is due for each incident, not annual like health insurance, so there is no "hitting my deductible for the year". You owe your deductible for each and every claim.

    Should i wait get an estimate from mechanic before reports to the insurance?

    @zylogz80 Yes more unless you get don't half ass repairs done. But as the other person said, compare to your deductible and then decide.

    Suspension is F*d after hitting Pothole

    @jmichael07 It's helpful yes, to tell them where is happened. But this is single car at fault accident that your arent disputing so there's not going to be any pushback as long as you had the appropriate coverage on place at the time of loss.

    Should i wait get an estimate from mechanic before reports to the insurance?

    @zylogz80 There's no way the damage you described will cost only $200 to repair, or even $600-$800.

    Suspension is F*d after hitting Pothole

    @jmichael07 No.

    How’s my coverage?

    @carterdraken Just a simple broken leg from an auto accident can result in 50k in medical costs. I recommend increasing your liability to 100/300/100 at a BARE MINIMUM, 250/500/250 if you can.

    Suspension is F*d after hitting Pothole

    @jmichael07 No you don't need to identify exactly which pothole. Pretty sure they aren't named or numbered anyway.
