@donaldcoomer28 Why not get it covered as a secondary rental home alongside your primary residence in Ontario?

Rating hit for not having primary residence with carrier.
Rating hit for not being within 100km of the rental.
There's probably a better broker out there that can take you through the process of making your business more palatable to insurers but it might be good to join an Ottawa landlords group to discuss how they manage as an out of province landlord as many QC landlords own in ON.
@mark264 Sorry not sure what you meant by the first sentence as I don't live in Ontario so I have no primary residence in Ontario. In either case, TD was my saving grace!
