@ronmstark You could let it go to collections and then bargain with the collections agency that buys the debt. Your credit score will take a pretty big hit tho.
@ronmstark Then you're left with settling for a payment plan to keep it from going to collections. Some hospitals don't f around either. The big one by me (northern Illinois medical center) send them to collections after 2 months of non payment.
@ronmstark As a nurse in a country other than USA - how the fuck do you guys get charged hundreds of dollars for ondansetron and a 1000ml bag of saline? How do they even keep track of that?
The fact they can charge $400 for a bag of saline is the insane part, not that they can track who used a bag of saline lol. I would pay for a bag of saline if it was like $20. Manufacturing cost and some profit you know? But $400? The fuck?
@defiant1968 You live in a country that doesn't have personal computers to enter patient data into, or doesn't keep track of what medications are given to patients in the hospital?
@mountaintrip98 They mean that generic zofran and saltwater are pretty cheap to make and buy, hospitals upcharge medicine sometimes to hundreds of times their cost
@mountaintrip98 Actually my current hospital still uses paper charts . But even in the fully digital hospitals we have we don’t charge people based on every individual item used.
