Hello, I am new to investing and I am working on building on my emergency savings fund at the moment. I’m researching how to invest at the moment but there’s also the element of keeping it halal. In the U.K. There seems to a limited amount of brokers as well.

So if any U.K. investors could be me out, I would appreciate that!

@believer94 Good start - an emergency fund of 3-6 month’s expenses is a must.

For brokers AJ Bell and Hargreaves Lansdown offer the widest range of Sharia-compliant funds. I think Interactive Investors and Eqi also have a few too. Do a search for “Islamic” or “Halal” on their fund listings to see what they offer. It’s probably around 5-6 funds at most (with AJ Bell and HL), but that’s the extent of Sharia funds currently available in the market.

Have a look at the ISAs and SIPPs. If you are investing for the short-medium term then a Stocks and Shares ISA is ideal. The SIPPs are good if you don’t want to touch the money until retirement (plus you get tax relief).
