[ALL STATES] If you're a part-time W-2 worker whose only reduction in income came from gig side-work, how do you qualify for UI?

Hi! I haven't seen that question directly answered before as a federal-level q.

I have a friend with a W-2 part-time job, who was teaching music lessons on the side.

• Money dropped off on the gig side.
• Their W-2 part-time job hours never changed.

If it helps, it will eventually be Texas-specific. Thanks for responding!

@sarsath THey are still working their customary hours on the W-2 job. They would need to have a reduction of those hours to qualify. The 1099 only comes into play with PUA and this person would qualify for Regular and therefore, not PUA.
