Hi all.
I'm currently stoozing and have opened a number of current accounts (all are free or pay me money each month as I have required DDs or transfers) to gain access to savings accounts and switch bonuses.
Atm my savings are split between:
£400 - Lloyd's regular saver - 5.25% (Nov23)...
So it will be around 8k month
As I don’t have CIS THEY GONNA TAKE 30%
My questions are:
How much taxes I have to pay before I get money in my personal account?
How much it will be p/h after all taxes
Is it good money 35£p/h or should I ask for more
Hi, I’m a 23 year old earning £42k working in the NHS. I’m in a relatively comfortable financial position apart from the fact I have around £6000 in credit card debt. I have recently transferred the balances of two credit cards to a zero interest card (12 months) to make paying them off easier...
I wonder if that title is specific enough for the fussy bot.
I changed employers in Sept last year, HMRC kept overestimating my income thinking I was working the old job as well (despite having received my P45) Eventually arrived at a tax code they later decided was too low. Ended up on a K...
Were you a first time buyer, how much was your deposit or if not your LTV rate?
I bought my first house in July/21 and secured a 3.9% mortgage the month before, I had a 15% deposit which I thought was quite good compared to other first time buyers but I keep people who say they had a sub 2%...

Getting my Christmas bonus soon and am going on a lads’ trip to the Euros in June. I’m going to put a grand aside as my spending money (everything else is paid for). What’s the best, safest thing I can do with that money that will turn it into a little bit more? I have Revolut; their vaults pay...
Let's pretend that over the next several years I'm able to max out my ISA contributions.
Given that the FSCS currently protects upto £85k, does the following strategy make sense? Or is it over engineered?
Year 1: Max ISA contribution to Provider 1 E.g. Vanguard
Year 2: Max ISA contribution to...
Around a year ago I walked out in my family due to a toxic situation. I'm only 23 so living independently, understanding bills, and supporting myself was all new to me.
Thankfully I worked very hard with multiple jobs prior to leaving home so my income was around £25,000 after tax. However, I...
As the title implies, this is a fairly straightforward question.
I'm looking to invest some money into silver.
Can you suggest some good/reliable places to purchase it?
Last year I was struggling to find somewhere to rent and was offered a place with cheap rent with the clause that I had to completely renovate it. The place was completely unliveable at first so I spent a grand I had in savings on fixing the central heating and renovating the lounge and master...
My pound sign/entire keyboard is broken, so please assume all figures are GBP. I apologise for how brief this is. My keyboard is a pain in the ass.
The context is complex, but please offer me your thoughts on this plan. I’m looking for potential holes and also advice on where to store 8, 000...

I think I covered it in the title - are there added costs to investing in a USD ETF whilst in the UK compared to a GBP one?
I’ve been a long time lurker in this channel and seen VWRP recommended a number of times, so I’m optimistic that there is no difference.
I use HL S&S isa in case that...
I’ve been working remotely for a client in the US. The funds are sent via PayPal from the US in pounds. I have only transferred £2K in my U.K. bank account. The rest is sitting in PayPal.
Are there any tax implications in the U.K.? I’m a U.K. citizen (been to the US for work before and have a...
I believe there's no limit on gifting money or assets to one's spouse.
If I had an asset that had depreciated since I bought it and my spouse had an asset that had appreciated, could I gift them my asset so they could sell them both and offset the CG loss against the gain, and then they gift...
Need a new phone and was thinking of buying a second hand iPhone and sim only deal. I’d save about £600 I think.
Are there any concerns about buying a used iPhone; someone could have installed malware on the used phone to extract my data is my main concern
Hi everyone I have a Postgraduate Student Loan which currently attracts an interest rate of 6.5%. This could vary over the life of the loan.
Should I pay off the Postgraduate Student Loan aggressively or invest in my Vanguard LifeStrategy 100?
I am thinking about adding the S&P 500 into the mix but looking at any advice . I feel happy with my mix of risk, put more in technology because I believe in it and decided a bit more risk was acceptable . Currently not paying into this due to moving jobs and house but once settled will start...
On balances up to 25K, anything over 25K only gets 1.5% Gross.
Worth noting for high rate tax payers this would push them over the £500 tax free allowance per year.
Also, no news on if the Current account will have an interest rate rise. As that always had the 2% interest on the first £1,000...
