They also can get broader information about a specific topic. All of this is important to companies who want to target specific audiences with products and services.
Disadvantages of focus groups – The sample size may not be a good representation of the broader population. Also, group participants may feel pressured to be dishonest and to lie about their opinions and feelings. Despite these drawbacks companies continue to utilize focus groups to gain information on preferences.
How to Register to Participate in a Focus Group?
There are a lot of places to connect with and register to participate in focus groups. If you’re selected you can get between $75 – $200 per session as a participant.
Your job is simply to share your opinions on products and services or to test them. For some focus groups you may need to complete a survey and then you may get selected to participate. Other groups have open registration, you can apply to participate without a prior survey.

Participating in a focus group can be a great way to earn extra cash for sharing your opinions. Registration to these groups is fairly simple and free. Some of the groups require preliminary survey answers before you qualify.

Once you’re in the database, if you don’t qualify for a current group, you may for one in the future.
