@antiteck I had a similar experience! I did some research and came to the conclusion that I needed at least SGD 7,000 to move over unless the company covers for accommodation. Plus I wasn’t willing to downgrade my current lifestyle.

@antiteck You live in Malaysia, salary 10k means you spend 10k in Malaysia.

You live in Singapore, salary 5k means you spend 5k in Singapore.

The ONLY way you can REALLY earn is by working in Singapore, and live in Malaysia (commute daily between Msia and Sg).

So, unless you have transport , house in JB, and willing to go to Sg daily, don't bother.

This is the general way to know whats the price of living in a country by checking the price for a can of coca cola.

1 can coke in Sg - SGD2.11

1 can coke in Msia - RM2.20

You can buy more coca cola in Msia with RM10k than with SGD5k in Singapore.

Chicken rice and normal malaysia standard food cost less than $6 but in ringgit is close to RM10

chocolate and fruits here are also way more affordable dollar to dollar without conversion.

using ringgit will deplete your money very fast
