Why hasn’t Boeing recovered?

I don't follow defense stocks closely. A brief look at its history shows that it's EBITDA took a nose dive in 2019 and went negative in 2020.

What happened? It was at twice its current valuation before covid. I’m aware that it’s had troubles with the Boeing max and commercial airlines had struggled, but I find it hard to believe that they hedged all their bets on that. What about increased defense spending?

@abacabb3 Work with Boeing for 3 months and you’ll think they are over valued. They’ll spend more money on lawyers fighting not to solve a problem than they would spend on engineers solving the problem. This pisses off customers and Boeing isn’t the only game in town. I toured the Airbus factory in Alabama. They looked good.
