What's the difference between TD and TD.TO?

How do I differentiate between using the TD Bank ticker TD versus TD.TO. Same goes for a number of other Canadian stocks like Bell Canada BCE or BCE.TO.

As a Canadian, is it advantageous to go with the TD.TO or the NYSE TD?

@ch3apshad3s One is priced in USD and one is priced in CAD. If you’re a Canadian investor you will most likely end up paying some kind of exchange fee to change your funds from CAD to USD to then buy the one that is not TD.TO

@gilbert_godfree TD is currently $60.33 USD on the NYSE and TD.TO is currently $81.38 CAD on the TSE - they are essentially the same price, it’s just one is priced in USD and one is priced in CAD
What would be the benefit of holding one over the other, if any ?
