Whats the Canadian equivalent of investing in the s&p 500

Looking to start investing some money every month and just want to know what I can put money into for 20-30 years thats the equivalent of investing in the s&p 500 for Canadians.

@watupjoshua Is there a way to buy vanguard funds in Canada w/o paying a commission? It looks like they have their own brokerage that would allow this but maybe it's only in the US? They list a bunch of Canadian brokerages but I'm not sure which if any would have no commissions. I'm currently buying TD E Series funds because they have no commissions but the MER is still higher than Vanguards..

@brady95crosscountry I'm pretty sure that's their main marketing point lol, free ETF transactions. Definitely look into it.

@brady95crosscountry Yep! I've got several self-directed accounts with them. As long as you're buying Canadian products there's no fees.

If you're buying US, there's a currency conversion fee that adds up quick.
