Has anyone else gotten this, and will that affect the $300 coming from the executive order?

Your Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) weekly benefit amount has been established at the base amount of $158.00 per week. This base PUA benefit has been established by law which requires it to be set at a rate that is 50% of the average weekly payment under the regular UI claims in Virginia. Proof of earnings will be required in order to consider an increase to that weekly benefit amount. The maximum weekly benefit amount is $378 based on your earnings.

The Virginia Employment Commission will require you to upload proof of your earnings. The following document types are approved by VEC for this review process:
  • Self-employed - upload your Schedule C Profit and Loss statement for 2019
  • Independent Contractor - 1099 for 2019
  • Uber - Tax Summary for 2019
  • All others - W2 for 2019

@jontue I’m sure they default sent that to everyone because my girlfriend received the same email and she stopped receiving unemployment in June

@caralynem VEC deputy's do not have direct numbers... you probably mean just a VEC call center rep, whom 95% of the time dosent know what they are talking about... look at other states & the PUA requirements for this government program, when the time comes for uploading proof of income you HAVE to do so, if not you will be ineligible for PUA & will have to payback.. it's all about checks & balances, plus to weed out fraud as well... the only information they have on people are socials & their word, the momentary determination was all 0's with no information other than the state minimum...

@caralynem Do as you feel, anytime a timeframe is given of 10 days & the program stated at the beginning you will be asked at a later date to provide proof of income, take heed... not uploading proof of income after the timeframe will make you ineligible for the program, failure to supply documents always ends with being denied... look at other states requirements... all the same, just different timeframes of completion...

@jontue just got this email too, is the end of it saying everyone will be required to upload proof of earnings whether they want an increase or not- or is it still just saying this is only for those looking for an increase above the $158?

Just do it anyway because they will require some proof of losing employment/impacted by covid in future. Do it now and not worry about it later.
