Unknown Operator Accident on report

My car insurance was up for renewal and just doubled. There’s something on my driving record that shows an accident two years ago and lists “unknown operator” and a 12k payout, but no other information. What could that possibly mean? I got a new car 3 years ago, am the only driver, and I’m very sure I’ve never had an accident in it.

@yebz Ask them to send you the “CLUE” report. This will state the details of the loss. It should have derails about the vehicle and drivers involved, the insurance carrier, and other details to help narrow it down.
