I had a leak in my roof of the home I rent. My landlord has a handyman that is supposed to come fix the ceiling where the leak occurred. This handyman is very unwilling to work with me to set a time that works for both of us to make the necessary repairs. After several back and forths with this handyman, he tells me he will inform the landlord that he cannot do the job.
I get an angry call from my landlord. He tells me that in Texas, he doesn’t have to even give me a heads up as to when a repairman is coming. He said I just have to be home. If I’m scheduled to work, I’ll have to call in. It was extremely unreasonable. I have to call in, wait and hope a repairman shows up??? And I also have a dog and a small child. Shouldn’t I be given some heads up as to when someone is coming to make repairs inside my home??? What are my rights here?
