Rainy Day Money

Question for US expats in Europe: where are you currently investing your rainy day Euros?
In the US, I save it in my brokerage‘s money market account currently earning 4.5%. Is there something similar in Europe?
How about US treasury bills? Is there a way to purchase US treasuries with Euros (to avoid currency risk)?

The currency ECB benchmark 2.5% so it would not be risk free if it was offered over that. You will have some banks offering deposits over 2% in EUR.

As for US Treasuries in EUR I doubt. The US is allergic to anything non USD. Though maybe you will find some sort of fund EUR hedged. You will lose percentual points on this hedge.
