@dszumera Yeah I had this happen to me (mother falsely claiming me), I fixed it directly with the irs so she had to settle her bill with them, since she would have never reimbursed me the amount I would have lost
@stanlywood_66 Correct. At the end of the registration you have to affirm that anybody on the Marketplace plans is not eligible to receive health care from an employer or Medicare.
@resjudicata You can be a dependent, whether or not you have a job and file taxes. If you are living at home, not paying rent, not providing for more than half of your needs, etc.
@daughteroftheking84 Why did your parents put them on their plan without your consent, and how could they do so without you knowing about it?
I would call the insurance company that did this and tell them that you didn’t consent to being put on their plan, and any attempts to add you to the plan in the future should be rejected unless they get your approval first.
@alanschafer1 Yeah I'm not sure but I also talked with my parents about it. They didn't do it with malicious intent but it is indeed a headache that I'll have to deal with their actions.
