If I have a car that is 7 months into it’s insurance e policy but has currently broke. Down for the 100th and I am thinking of selling will i lose the ncb that I would’ve been able to add for this year

@bozayo Insurance policies are normally for a year.

Even if you pay monthly you owe for the year. It's illegal to have two policies open on the same vehicle and if you sell it you have to cancel it. You may get a refund on the remainder but there is normally an admin charge.

If you keep the vehicle then your no claims for the year will count. It doesn't matter if you drive it or not.

Hope this helps.

@bozayo In Florida, they’re 6 month policies. If you sell the car and aren’t planning on purchasing a new one for 30+ days then ask about a named, non owner policy so you don’t have a lapse in coverage and you keep your bonus.
