NIFTY YoY Growth Trails QoQ Growth

The above chart shows the growth (or de-growth) in NIFTY earnings, measured quarterly, over the last 10 year period.

Observe how the RED line (QoQ earnings growth) moves in a particular direction and the BLUE line (YoY earnings growth) follows it a quarter or two later.

Considering that equity markets are the easiest place to make a prediction ;-) here is my prediction:

Considering the recovery in QoQ earnings growth in Q1 of FY16, I predict a recovery in YoY earnings growth in the coming 2 quarters. I.e. Q2 and Q3 of FY16.

Logically that should be expected as corresponding quarters for FY15 were pretty weak.
