I'm going to be moving into an apartment complex in the beginning of September and I just received an email saying that I am required to maintain personal liability coverage in the amount of $100K. I was given the option of either purchasing a policy from their preferred provider: Assurant or from any other insurance carrier.
This is my first time hearing of Renter's insurance and have very little knowledge on it. Would someone kindly be able to explain to me the idea of Renter's Insurance and advise me on whether I should go with Assurant or look for another Insurance carrier.
