For him, a car is an asset as he can then show off to others and validate that he’s doing well financially.

This is something a lot of people with daughters around marriageable age do. These are things they've been seeing from their childhood and seen their peers do too.

@freshcoast He was probably planning for this ever since you went to college, that once you’ll graduate he won’t have to spend on you and that money will go towards paying for the car. Get a job if you’re worried about your family’s financial situation
