Medical Claim Negotiations

I was involved in a minor car accident earlier this year. Another driver hit my vehicle.
The other driver’s insurance paid to fix my vehicle.
I incurred about $2800 worth of medical bills.
The other driver’s insurance is offering to pay the $2800 medical bills and $5000 for pain/suffering.

Is it typical to negotiate for more?
Is the insurance company prepared for a higher counter offer?
What is the likelihood they will accept a higher counter offer?

@cardinalstorm They’re reimbursing all of your medical and giving you a pretty nice payout on top of it. I’d take the offer as others suggested. If you want more, you have to prove why they owe more.
