Hit twice in the same place

So a year ago my car was hit creating damage on the back trunk area. I settled the claim, insurance company cut me a check and I just kept the check because the damage was minor. Flash forward I just got rear-ended again in the exact same spot,
It worsened the damage and added new damage to my bumper. Basically, the old dent went from a 6 inch dent to a 12 inch dent in size. So do I reclaim the damage? Not sure how this works?

@worktogether You can file a claim but they’re only going to pay the difference between the old damage and the current damage. If you want it fixed you’ll have to pay the rest.

@worktogether Yep it’s a new claim. You’ll most likely just get a new bumper at this point.

@worktogether You will also have another claim on your policy and could possibly be looking at getting non renewed for loss frequency when your policy renews.
