Help! Have cancer, new job, and overlap in insurance

I just took a new job second week of April. Insurance is retroactively active on day 1. Let's call this insurance a. Am currently covered by my husband's plan, called insurance b. Third week of April, I have a biopsy and find out I have cancer. I just got my insurance A information today. I have surgery in the coming week. I am close to hitting the deductible of $5k on insurance B (due to biopsy) insurance B has also pre-approved my surgery.
Absolutely and totally confused on what to do next re pre-approval for surgery with insurance A and remaining bills that have been sent to insurance B but not processed yet.

@spottedcatlover Insurance A is your primary plan, you’ll have to get a Prior-Authorization.

Also any medical care you’ve gotten since the day insurance A became active - all those claims need to be resubmitted to bill insurance A first, and then insurance B as secondary.

@spottedcatlover Yes, you also need to notify both insurance and inform them about the other insurance plan

@mendokusai Yes. Contact the provider about the new insurance AND insurance B about coordination of benefits change for the other policy. They will likely recoup from the provider.
