In FY23, inflation was 6.7%, and real GDP growth 6.9%. Combining these results, a tax increase of 12% from a year ago actually shows a reduction in tax collecting efficiency.

@redeemedtomanhood won't GDP growth calculation implicitly include inflation too? Even if we use USD to define GDP, it goes through inflation too. Also, you can't sum two different growth percentage anyways.

@seekinghispresence No. The GDP number presented (6.9%) represents the *real* GDP growth, ie, after accounting for inflation.

Price - 100 + 12% GST = 112
Now.
Price - 125 + 12% GST = 140
( when Base price Increases GST will Automatically increase)
