Filed taxes almost 7 weeks ago online, but still haven’t received my refund. Any ideas what’s going on?

As the title says, I filed my taxes online using turbotax and I checked my cra but it says “in progress”. I called them and they said there’s nothing they need from me but that some tax returns just take longer to process. has anyome had this experience before? I could really use this money right about now

@johnsonnick365 Yes it's normal to randomly review tax returns. Nothing is going on, it's just regular as usual.

@johnsonnick365 Did you setup direct deposit ?

If it’s snail mail, this could be why.

@johnsonnick365 I filed our returns a couple of weeks ago (at the same time). My refund arrived less than 10 days after submission, spouse's is still "in progress". We both have direct deposit set up, theirs just flagged extra review and mine didn't.

Check your CRA account to make sure your direct deposit info is correct, but otherwise nothing you can do except wait.

@johnsonnick365 I filed on March 2nd. Still in process. It's maddening.
