Family plan in NYC

Hello everyone, I’m a resident of Brooklyn, NY. My wife works full time at a hospital and has great insurance but she is also in school and will need to quit within the next 6 months. I will try to get a different job with similar benefits but I just graduated so it will be tough. Any ideas on good health care plans for families? BTW We have a 4 y.o.

@doctoraines Start with the New York marketplace if you have to buy a policy. It will likely direct you to Medicaid depending on your income when she quits to go to school. Either way, you may be eligible to receive a lot of assistance paying for your plan.

@doctoraines Get on your wife’s plan for now. Start shopping on healthcare.gov when she is going to quit.
