don't buy real estate... thoughts?

A lawyer was saying not to buy real estate in a location which is not close to you. Due to the issues of land grabbing in india. Thoughts?

@graceandjoy You can, but obviously need to do due diligence. Don't buy in places where things like what the lawyer said happens.

It is pretty much like stock market. Buy good stocks, you'll benefit. Buy a shady or a highly volatile stock and you can lose all your money.
