Evaluating retiring from the USA to RSA, in particularly looking at the tax impact. Does anyone know if SARS considers withdrawals from a 401k as withdrawals from a foreign pension, thus tax exempt?
@evea Did manage to get an answer? I am curious too. Technically recognizing it as either a pension, a lump sum, or an annuity is fine, but I guess you know that already. If you have a tax number then you can probably ask SARS — they appear to be better at answering questions than the IRS.
