As a Canadian citizen, I am in need of a business credit card or a personal credit card, preferably a business one.
I am wondering which credit cards have the best cashback/rewards. I spend around $600,000+ annually on all sorts of transactions, but nothing related to food, grocery, gas, or other categories where credit card companies offer higher bonus rewards.
At the moment, I currently have:
VISA RBC Avion Infinite Business Card, which has a points rewards rate of 1.25x on all purchases. I can then redeem these points at a value of $2 = 100pts when I am redeeming for Business/First Class tickets on the Avion website. All other ticket redemptions are $1 = 100pts. For paying credit cards with Avion points, the value is terrible at $500 = 86,000pts.
I also have anRBC Cashback Mastercard which has a 1% cashback on all purchases, which isn’t amazing knowing that there are 2% cashback cards out there.
Breakdown:
VISA RBC Avion Infinite Business Card: $600,000 x 1.25 = 750,000 pts
Can redeem 750,000 points for:
Business/First class: $2 per 100pts, making the pts worth $15,000
Economy class - $1 per 100pts, making the pts worth $7,500
Paying off credit card balance: making the pts worth $4360
RBC Cashback Mastercard: $600,000 x 0.01 = $6000 cashback
Comparing rewards to cashback, the:
VISA RBC Avion Infinite Business Card would be considered as 2.5% cashback (if redeemed for Business/First class)
RBC Cashback Mastercard would be considered as 1% cashback
Any recommendations are much appreciated. I travel a lot, so I would prefer a card that gives a lot of travel points, but am open to cashback credit cards. Whichever is most worth it!
