Company layoffs are coming. How would 9 weeks of severance impact my PPO HSA plan that has met the deductible ?

@davecave Does your severance package include health insurance or Cobra payments?

@possy It would be subsidized healthcare. From my experience the cobra plan just continued the same health insurance I had. I don’t know what happens with high deductible plans once the deductible is met however.

@davecave If you're continuing on the same insurance plan, then there is no impact at all.

If you are starting a new plan, then the old plan is irrelevant, and you'll have a new deductible.

@davecave Are you covering any dependents? If so, will they also be covered under your Cobra plan?
