Car insurance claim payout

Hello, about a week ago I was at a gas station pumping gas completely outside of my car standing up, and a car pulls into the gas station and hits the front of my car I have no idea how they did not see a parked car but luckily we got eachothers info he admitted to fault and now it’s through the the Insurance AAA insurance. We both happened to have this insurance. I got my estimate which is $900. I also have a $500 deductible. The insurance thing I’ll waive the deductible for me as they already let me know. My question for anyone who can help me is…. If the deductible is waived and the estimate to fix is $900 with a waived $500 deductible and I decide to take a payout check instead of getting my car fixed because honestly I’d rather get something else fixed on my car at a later time and live with the dent on my car from the accident. Will I get the whole $900 check ?

@beatenbrokendissociation Do you have a loan on the car? If so, AAA will probably know and will make the check out to both of you. If you don't, the money is yours to keep.

@beatenbrokendissociation Depends on AAA’s policy. If the other person is 100% at fault and they can recover the deductible, you should get the full 900. (I’m an adjuster, but for a different company)
