(CA) Farmers home insurance "modified open perils"

I have my California homeowners policy through Farmers, specifically a Farmers Smart Plan Homeowners policy. I was playing around with the CA DOI Homeowners Coverage Comparison Tool, which lists this policy as "modified open perils" while most other companies are HO-3 "open peril".

I tried searching for a definition of "modified open perils" without success. The only thing I could find was an old forum post in which a former Farmers agent essentially describes it as a glorified HO-2.

This has me worried that I might have significant coverage gaps that I'm unaware of. I'm not an insurance expert so my attempt at parsing each sample policy didn't help me much.

I would be grateful if anyone could share their insight into how this "modified open perils" policy differs from an HO-3. I feel like I was sold a cheap policy and I'm tempted to call a local agent and pay more for a proper HO-3.
