Will the insurance pay out?
Hi all.
My "Howdens" Bamboo flooring has been down for 3 and a half years no problems.
We noticed it lifting after heavy rain. Upon inspection where the outside decking comes close to the wall of the house we found that ashes from the multi fuel burner had filled the gap between the decking and house just above the damp proof barrier.
It's all been cleaned out and won't happen again but, the floor is continuing to lift as it expands.
It looks like the flooring will have to be lifted and some form of dehumidifier used to dry out the floor.
Will the floor dry out on its own accord now the damp ingress has been stopped.
If not, will the insurance pay for work?
