Adding a dog to renters insurance

I tried to Google this question without any actual answer, but what happens if I do not put my dog down on my renters insurance policy? Does it just mean that any potential dog related incident is not covered, or can I be subject to some sort of penalty by not reporting my dog? I highly HIGHLY doubt there will ever be any sort of issue with my dog so I’d like to avoid paying extra if I can.

@jesuslover1223 It should be covered by default for a lot of the majors. Just get a copy of your policy and highlight pets and see. If not, give 'em a quick (long) call or do a chat help.
