My job auto opened 401k for us months ago, and I always thought 401k was just savings but apparently it’s investment and money can become haram with it. I set the contribution number to zero so that it doesn’t take money from my check anymore. However the current balance that is in the 401k account, I don’t want to use it because it’s mostly haram monney. Am I sinful for just keeping it there and not using it? Or do I have to take the money out from the 401k(after the 10 percent penalty with early withdrawal and stuff)?
