100k into s&p 500

@the_family_monastery FIF taxes is what you are missing. If you want to purchase 100K on sharesies then you are best to open a joint account (don't know if shareies does this) or an account under your name and an account under your wife's name an put in less than 50K each. e.g A $49K VOO buy on each account.
 
@the_family_monastery If you're hell bent on your strategy, buy it through InvestNow - they have USF available without the $30 set up fee for Smartshares or the Sharesies transfer fees.

You're far better off with other options (e.g. Foundation series) if you're investing long term, but for one year (😬) the Smartshares ones might be your best bet.
