Great Americans, Where should I retire?

I have done 20 plus years and I am wondering where I should retire. I expect to get at least 10% VA disability but probably not 100%. I do not have any jobs or school plans lined up, and due to health concerns, I would like to be near a major US hospital and a military base that has a pharmacy...

Questions: Should I receive Time in Service (TIS) credit (different from constructive credit) for longevity purposes on my LES from my time in IRR after accepting an Educational Delay? I've heard mixed answers from leadership. Does this depend on if I was an SMP during ROTC? (See clarification...

TSP won’t roll in Roth account from prior employer

Before I enlisted, I had an employer-sponsored Roth plan at my previous job. They labeled it as a personal IRA, so the TSP won’t accept it as a roll-in. However, I found this on TSP’s website: “We will accept both direct and indirect rollovers of tax-deferred money from traditional IRAs, SIMPLE...

    L fund to G fund

Quick question, it may be a real dumb one too. But during the covid dip in 2020 was it possible to transfer your assets from the L fund to the G fund during the fall and then transfer it all back to the L Fund near the bottom? I thought I remember hearing someone do this. Thanks in advance.

My dad says to switch to L 2020 funds for a year

My dad took a look at all the TSP funds and wants me to switch 100% to L 2020 funds for a year because he thinks the market will go down. His GF is an accountant and disagrees. However, they both agree to change to lower the I fund from 25% to 10% and put 15% more into C fund. What do you think?
