@vinthesent Interesting. As it stands though, I'm a single guy, and a 120$/year card just isn't worth it to me. I'm more likely to consider Scotiabank's card to be honest too, but either way it'll be years before I pick either, and things will probably change by then so yeah, whatever.

@theeagle94 Someone said that using Simplii card on google pay to pay for Skip does get you the 4% though, so that's an option. I've never used google pay, but I just might, more for the convenience of having all my cards with me even if I forgot my wallet at home.

@nikkixc I don't feel like it's hating on me, but there's definitely a frustrating undertone of "eating out is too expensive you need to buy groceries". Sure, maybe that applies, but I don't feel I should need to post my income, savings, budget, and eating habits to make this kind of PSA...

@resjudicata Haha fair enough, I usually don't have that problem for what to order, I generally go for stuff I've never had before, staff recommendation, or something I know is good, in that order. Per tipping, I go for 15% for restaurants I like and want to support.

@panthers That's fair. I'm considering Google pay for that, I usually always travel with my wallet but google pay could come in handy.

@katariamax Hahaha wow that's something :p Since I have Simplii Visa for restaurants (and 99.9% of the time it works fine), I use Tangerine for groceries, public transit (would be gas if I had a car), and recurring bills. Works out well for me.

@justsumgai From here, Skip appears to have different classifications for different cards. Which card were you using? Visa, mastercard, or Amex?

@pope66 That's interesting, it means that Skip is registered as "groceries and retail" for Visa, "Taxi & public transportation" with Mastercard, and as per /@theoden, classed as "restaurant" for Amex. I have taxi and public transport as a category on my Tangerine too, might use that instead...

@auddieme I don't think it's Skip's fault, they're probably trying to follow the different and contradictory guidelines between Visa, Mastercard, and Amex.

@doulosiesou It depends if it's a Walmart superstore selling groceries or not. If it doesn't sell groceries, it's a department store. If it does sell groceries, then it counts as groceries even if you're buying a TV. That's what I heard from the Mastercard angle, no idea about Visa or Amex.
