Do some people buy individual stocks plus their index funds?

@ramy6et Money yes, beating the top ETF's no but wasn't really my goal. My goal is to enjoy investing and make a reasonable profit.

@asjasj123 To be honest I don't remember. If there was, it was included in the final number they gave us. So excited to pay it off lol wasn't concerned if there was a fee.

Paying off entire mortgage, don’t want to mess it up

@friendlycat It's one of those things included with the monthly account fee which is waived if you keep a minimum balance. So either way, still paying for it one way or another.

@gingerberry Thank you, been a few years now but yes you are correct. The 1st of the month is still the best time, a constant reminder that no money is due for rent or mortgage.

Paying off entire mortgage, don’t want to mess it up

@randar We went to Royal Bank and asked how much we owed if we paid it off today. They gave us the exact amount. Went to TD and got a bank draft for that amount and returned to Royal Bank, and gave them the bank draft. That was it.

Where can I invest 50k that will pay me monthly

@mpaper345 Not enough info. Is 50k the majority of your savings. Is 50k a very small percentage of your overall portfolio. Unregistered or registered available ? I don't have your answer, but more info would probably allow someone else to give you a better answer.
