Issue with calculating Tracking Error for Index fund

@polycarpvenant Excess Return = RF + β(MR – RF) – TR Where: RF = Risk-free rate β = Beta of the security MR = Expected return of the market TR = Actual or Total Return from the security Sayan, you don't simply subtract to find "excess" return.

Kuvera has turned into a shitshow

@resjudicata That's probably because CAMS supports a certain list of AMCs. There is no relevance to shifting data as your data is not with Kuvera or Groww. Just stop your SIPs there and start it directly with the AMC. Edit: You don't necessarily need to move to CAMS. The point is to ditch the...

Kuvera has turned into a shitshow

@resjudicata The confusion of timing the market has arrived recently because the market is moving erratically every day. If FM tweets something, market can give a good 500 point move.

Kuvera has turned into a shitshow

@karenhampton That's never going to happen. If the AMC receives the money on Day X, they are bound to give you NAV of Day X irrespective of how long ago you purchased.

Kuvera has turned into a shitshow

@cathy100 FYI, while all redditors here were mentioning the delay of their SIPs with MF platforms, I had no delay whatsoever. This is for SIPs in the first week of Feb. I can understand why these platforms have problems and delay and mark my words: They will continue to do so. I got nothing...

The Ken makes a big comment on rules for index

@zashmaster That's a known issue with index funds and it will be prevalent. Michael Burry warned the same back in 2019. Even pension funds, EPF invests in indices. There are equal-weight index funds as well but the churn ratio goes up to the sky to give a comparable return.

Passive investing: ETF vs Mutual Funds. Do we have a new winner? (Data backed research)

@shammysdad One MAJOR factor you ignored is the risk. The rolling standard deviation of an ETF is much higher. Index funds gives a similar return to an ETF with lesser cost (tracking error cannot be added to cost) and lesser risk. Also, the price of an ETF often quotes at a premium to the iNav...

Passive investing: ETF vs Mutual Funds. Do we have a new winner? (Data backed research)

@shammysdad You forgot to include Annual Maintenance charged by brokers for ETFs. (: Also, account opening charges in some cases. Also, you need to consider slippages due to bid-ask spread for ETFs. Also, if you want to ignore taxation then you should include DP charges (demat charges) which...

Kuvera has turned into a shitshow

@karenhampton Contrary to popular belief, the AMC websites are pretty robust (since these are large companies compared to startups like groww, kuvera). I use CAMS directly (it's the registrar ffs) for CAMS serviced funds and few other directly through AMC. Use excel to track, mate. Just for...
