    @dianne46 Not useless. You buy just enough panels to offset your daytime use. More fit for people who have high day time energy requirements e.g. those who use aircons in the morning til afternoon or those with people in the house 24/7 like maids/kids or those under a WFH set up.

    @showtime2507 You use the energy generated from the panels directly in the day time. Only the excess is exported into the grid. If without net metering yet, there’s a limiter to prevent export. The inverter only generates as much energy as needed.

    @showtime2507 Most residential solar installations are grid-tied. Meaning no batteries. You get enough panels to offset only your daytime use. You still have to pay Meralco for your night time usage. Downside to grid-tie is if brownout si Meralco, wala ka ring power kahit malakas ang sikat ng araw.

    @gbecca87 Kasama na siya sa package nung kumuha kami. Walang option na hindi kasama yung net metering process kaya di ko alam how much siya pag separate. Di pa tapos though. Nakakuha na kami ng approval galing meralco so LGU nalang and mismong pagkabit. Baka mga 2 weeks pa daw. So far...

    @debbie112 Net metering was included in the package with the solar installation company. They said it’ll take at least 3 months to process. I’ll comment back once we test the difference.

    @debbie112 I also posted here before asking whether solar panels are a good investment. The answer was overwhelmingly yes. We had them installed less than a month ago so I don’t have a full month’s worth of data yet but basing on the past 2 weeks we’re expecting at least a 2.5K monthly savings...
